🚧 Heads Up, Swansea! 🚧

Get ready for a bit of a detour! Brynmill Lane in Swansea is going to be closed for a significant makeover. Starting from Monday, January 26, this bustling road will be off-limits to all vehicles for about two months. But don’t worry, foot traffic and emergency services will still have access.

Why the shutdown? It’s all in aid of some essential gas mains replacement works by Wales and West Utilities. The council’s given a heads up that while the closure order could last up to 18 months, they’re aiming to wrap it up in just 61 days.
Wondering about the detour? If you usually cruise down Brynmill Lane, you’ll need to divert via the A4118 Gower Road, De La Beche Road, A4216 Sketty Park Road, A4216 Sketty Lane, and A4067 Mumbles Road. It’s a bit of a longer route, at about 3km, but at least you’ll still be on the move!
And in other road news around Swansea:
– The A4217 Pentrechwyth bypass in Bonymaen will face a temporary closure from January 18 for litter picking and pothole repairs. Expect a short disruption lasting from one to five days.
– Keep an eye on Worcester Place in the city centre from January 21, where a new gas main will be installed. This job could take up to five days.
Plan ahead, stay safe, and spread the word! 👍 #SwanseaTraffic #RoadClosure #PlanYourRoute
