Meet Ani Rowlands, a little girl whose emotional moment has warmed hearts all over Wales! Ani, a talented student from Llangristiolus, captured national attention when she burst into tears of joy after winning a prestigious award at the Eisteddfod yr Urdd Ynys Môn. The adorable Year Two pupil won the individual recital for her age group and couldn’t hold back her emotions as she thanked her mum for her unwavering support and kind teaching. Ani’s heartfelt words, “I tried my best for mum,” even brought tears to her mum’s eyes.

On stage, overwhelmed Ani was comforted by presenter Mari Lovgreen, who praised her fantastic achievement. Afterward, Ani excitedly shared with the BBC that her dad promised her a kebab as a special treat for her win!

The Eisteddfod yr Urdd is an annual celebration of the Welsh language, arts, and culture, attracting over 15,000 young competitors. This year’s festival took place on Ynys Môn, marking the first time in over 20 years the event returned to the island. Next year, it’s heading to Newport at Tredegar House! Councillor Jason Hughes expressed his excitement about showcasing the city’s thriving Welsh language scene.
Congratulations, Ani! We can’t wait to see what you’ll achieve next. 🌟
