🌞 Heads up, folks! The ongoing dry spell across Wales is a bit of a worry. Natural Resources Wales has hit the alarm bells with a drought status declared in some areas, and prolonged dry weather conditions expected in others. So, while you’re out enjoying the school holidays, it’s important to remember that our rivers, wildlife, and farmlands are feeling the strain.

With high temps and very little rain in sight, we’ve seen parts of Wales go bone-dry, affecting everything from agriculture to natural ecosystems. The warning? Be extra cautious to prevent wildfires – we’ve had too many already.

If you’re heading out for a countryside adventure, keep wildlife in mind and take care not to start fires. Also, for those in west Wales, remember there’s a hosepipe ban in place. Welsh Water says this is a temporary measure due to high demand, but it’s important we all do our bit.

All in all, let’s use water wisely and help protect our lovely landscapes. The Met Office has noted that wildfire conditions remain high, so let’s stay mindful and responsible during this sunny spell. Stay safe and enjoy the beauty Wales has to offer! 🌿🔥💧
