In 2022, Olivia first encountered the symptoms: intense headaches, neck pain, and sensitivity to light. She initially thought it was just stress, but she soon found herself in intensive care, fighting for her life. “I thought I was going to die,” she said, as her body seemed to give up on her.

Despite enduring hearing loss, chronic migraines, and a raft of other debilitating conditions, Olivia pulled through, only to face meningitis again in 2024. The second battle was equally harrowing, featuring failed lumbar punctures and weeks of hospital treatment. Yet, her spirit remained unbroken. 💪

Olivia was forced to give up her beloved teaching career, but she refused to be defeated. She took charge of her life, overhauling her diet and embracing Pilates, ultimately launching her own successful coaching business. “Weirdly, meningitis was the best thing that ever happened to me,” she reflects.

Now, Olivia is gearing up for the London Marathon, determined to raise funds and awareness for the Meningitis Research Foundation. She emphasises the importance of knowing your body and taking symptoms seriously, urging anyone experiencing similar signs to seek medical help immediately.

Her incredible journey from illness to inspiration is a powerful reminder of the human spirit’s resilience. Here’s to Olivia—a true fighter and an inspiration to us all! 🏃‍♀️✨
