Welsh Pubs on the Chopping Block: UK Pub Chain to Close All 14 Locations with Confirmed Shutdown Date Announced

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Sad news for Wales’ pub-lovers! A major UK pub chain is planning to close all 14 of its locations in Wales. This change is part of a wide-ranging restructuring plan aimed at cutting costs by £250 million. Set your calendars for the closure date on September 10, 2026, and prepare to say goodbye to your local favourites. 😢

Here’s a sneak peek of the Welsh Beefeater and Brewers Fayre locations facing closure:

📍 Beefeater:
– Bagle Brook – Port Talbot
– The Coldra – Newport
– The Longbow – Rhondda Cynon Taff
– Walston Castle – Cardiff
– The Waterfront – Swansea

📍 Brewers Fayre:
– Abergavenny – Monmouthshire
– Afon Conwy – Conwy
– Barry Island – Vale of Glamorgan
– Crossways – Caerphilly
– Ocean Park – Cardiff
– The Sandpiper – Carmarthenshire
– Swansea Vale – Swansea
– Tirfounder Fields – Rhondda Cynon Taff
– Victoria Park – Gwent

The decision is driven by a shift towards hotel-focused operations, putting about 3,800 jobs across the UK at risk. But there’s some hope as the company aims to retain and potentially redeploy many of the affected employees.

Though it’s a tough time for the industry, and especially for the wonderful staff, let’s make sure we give these pubs a proper send-off over the next few months! 🍻 #SupportLocalPubs #GoodbyeBeefeater #GoodbyeBrewersFayre
