🚨 Hantavirus Alert in Wales! 🚨

Stay informed as Wales navigates through a recent hantavirus outbreak! 🦠

Passengers from the MV Hondius cruise ship, which left Argentina on April 1, are now self-isolating. 8 confirmed cases have been linked to the ship, with a couple more suspected cases. It’s a serious situation, but Public Health Wales is on top of things with regular tests and assessments for those isolating. 👍
Rest assured, all Welsh residents in isolation are currently healthy and symptom-free, and the risk to the general public remains very low. Hantavirus isn’t spread through casual contact, so normal activities aren’t affected. Keep calm and carry on! 💪
A word from the experts: Hantaviruses are usually spread by contact with infected rodents like rats and mice, rare in the UK. While they often cause mild illness, they can become serious.
We stand with those affected and extend our thoughts to the families impacted.💖 Let’s stay informed and supportive!
Stay safe and updated! 🙌
