🏉 Rugby Buzz Alert! 🏉
Exciting times in Welsh rugby as two local regions, Ospreys and Scarlets, are hot on the trail of Tongan fly-half Pat Pellegrini! After his current Super Rugby side, Moana Pasifika, announced their closure, the talented 27-year-old is back on the market. Having already impressed with a handful of caps for Tonga and experience in Super Rugby, he’s a fantastic prospect. However, our Welsh clubs are up against some stiff competition with the likes of Harlequins, Perpignan, and even teams from Japan showing interest!
In more coach-related news, the legendary Adam Jones, affectionately known as ‘Bomb’, might be gearing up for a comeback to the Welsh coaching setup. Having already made some impactful contributions during the Six Nations and last summer’s Japan tour, there’s chatter about him rejoining the team as part of Steve Tandy’s coaching crew. Following some shake-ups at his current club, Harlequins, this could be a golden opportunity for Jones to come home and share his expertise.
Also, a quick nod to the powerhouse England women’s team! They secured a whopping 84-7 victory against Scotland in the Six Nations, making their title defence a spectacle to remember. A record crowd in Scotland witnessed this rugby masterclass as England’s Red Roses dominated with a dizzying 12 tries! Kudos to Ellie Kildunne and Sarah Bern for their stellar performances. 🌹💥
Meanwhile, over at the United Rugby Championship, Connacht stunned the Stormers with a sensational comeback in Cape Town, turning a 10-point deficit into a 33-24 win. What a display of perseverance and skill!
