Newtown High School is taking action against TikTok accounts created to mock teachers. Headteacher Natalie Havard has informed parents about the police and TikTok investigations underway, aiming to tackle this concerning issue.
The school’s response includes enforcing mobile phone rules and urging parents to chat with their kids about responsible social media use. They emphasised: “Our priority is the safety and wellbeing of our school community.”
Most of the offending accounts have already been removed, thanks to quick action and supportive assemblies. But parents are still encouraged to discuss the importance of respectful online behaviour at home.
