🏉 BIG NEWS for Welsh Rugby fans! Owen Watkin, the talented centre, is making a comeback after nearly 11 months off the pitch due to a serious knee injury. After working tirelessly on his recovery, Owen is set to make his return this weekend with the Ospreys in the European Challenge Cup clash against Montauban.

It’s been a tough road for the 29-year-old since he ruptured knee ligaments in the Six Nations match against France. But determined as ever, he’s back in action, named on the bench alongside fellow returnee Morgan Morris.

Owen’s journey has been a rollercoaster of emotions. “It’s been super tough and sometimes daunting, stuck in the gym while watching the team play,” Owen admits. But he’s had supportive teammates, family, and a rock-solid mindset to lean on through the hard times. “I’ve had a few setbacks, but my biggest motivation is to get back to where I was and beyond.”
For Ospreys, his return is perfectly timed. With a packed festive schedule ahead, having Owen’s experience is a big boost. And who knows, his return might also catch the eye of Wales selectors ahead of the Six Nations!
“At 29, I feel I’ve got plenty of rugby in me. The goal is to get back into that red jersey,” says Watkin. “For now, it’s about getting back on the field, enjoying every minute, and staying fit.”
This weekend, Jack Walsh will captain the team, with Dan Edwards getting a well-deserved rest. We can’t wait to see Owen back on the field doing what he does best! Let’s get behind him and the team as they take on Montauban. Come on, Ospreys! 🖤💙
