Big news for Wales! 🎉 The electrification of the Core Valley Lines, part of the South Wales Metro programme, is now complete! After six years of hard work, the final section between Cardiff Queen Street and Cardiff Bay is up and running. 🚆✨

This huge project involved installing over 280 miles of overhead wiring, and the new electric and tri-mode trains are ready to roll. These sleek, modern tram-trains can run on rail and tram lines, using overhead electric lines and battery power. With room for over 250 passengers, they’re set to transform travel across the region. 🚋

Transport officials are thrilled, calling it a “landmark moment” for South Wales. With more than £1bn invested, including £800m for new trains, passengers can look forward to faster, greener, and more frequent services connecting communities like never before. 🌱💨
A big thanks to the engineers and communities who supported this massive upgrade. The improved services are set to make a real difference, proving that patience and hard work truly pay off. 🤝
Stay tuned for a smoother, eco-friendly ride starting this spring! 💚
