💉**Winter Flu Jab Reminder!**💉

Hey everyone, winter’s around the corner and it’s time to talk flu jabs! This year’s flu vaccine is your best defence against serious illness, especially if you’re among the most vulnerable or in care professions.

👵 **Who gets it for free?**
– Over 65s

– Those aged 6 months to 64 with long-term health conditions
– Health & social care workers
– Carers
– Pregnant women
– Residents of care homes
– Young kids (ages 2-3)
– School kids (Reception to Year 11)
🤰 If you’re expecting, it’s vital to get the jab—it protects both you and your baby! Last year, over 10,000 pregnant women in Wales took this step for their health.
💪 For anyone with conditions like diabetes, asthma, COPD, or heart disease, the flu can be more than just a seasonal nuisance. Almost 200,000 people with these conditions got vaccinated last year in Wales, and you should too!
A whopping million folks got jabbed last year—join the club and book yours soon. Two weeks post-jab, you’ll be armed and ready against the nastiest of winter viruses. And yes, you can get your flu shot right alongside your other vaccinations too!
🦠 **What is flu?**
Flu is a highly contagious virus spread through coughs and sneezes. Even a mild case can escalate to something serious like bronchitis or pneumonia. So, cover up, wash hands regularly, and if you’re ill, take a break to keep others safe.
Chief Medical Officer Isabel Oliver advises using every tool in our kit to keep those winter bugs at bay. Beyond the jab, simple hygiene and staying home when you’re under the weather are also powerful allies.
🗓 **When should you get it?**
Flu vaccines are rolling out from late September to early October. Don’t miss out—get it before the flu has a chance to spread!
