π¨ Fraud Alert! π¨

A 61-year-old woman from Aberbargoed, caught in a caravan holiday scam, has been ordered to repay over Β£9,000 to her victims. While posing as a booking agent for Trecco Bay, Porthcawl, Alyson Perrett pocketed money meant for dream getaways, turning hopes into nightmares. π

Between January 2022 and September 2023, Perrett deceived numerous individuals, including unpaid carers and cancer patients, during their most vulnerable times. Imagine expecting a festive family holiday and instead facing distress and financial loss. π
In court, Perrett was reminded of the chaos caused by her actions. Admitting guilt to nine counts of fraud, she acknowledged that her drinking and gambling habits were to blame, expressing a desire for change. While her sentence of 20 months in prison was suspended for 18 months, she faces rehabilitation and must undergo a six-month alcohol treatment programme. ποΈ
Affected individuals described sleepless nights and substantial financial strain. One victim, a carer for disabled children, had saved for what was to be their first Christmas since losing a loved one. Another victim sought solace after intense cancer treatment, only to be let down. π’
Perrettβs required to repay specific amounts to the victims soon, ensuring justice is served. Let’s spread awareness and prevent future scams. Always double-check and verify bookings. Stay safe and informed, everyone! π¨
