Exciting times for 18-year-old Welsh rugby star, Tom Howe! π Just a few weeks ago, this Cardiff academy hooker swapped the chance to play in the Welsh Schools and Colleges final for a debut with the Wales U20s team. The decision paid off with Howe scoring a try against Scotland in his very first match. π

Fast forward to this past weekend, and Howe’s star continues to rise! Coming off the bench for Cardiff RFC against Bridgend, he didnβt just make an appearance but also scored a try, helping his team to a stunning 49-12 victory. Talk about making an entrance! πͺ

Talking to S4C, Howe admitted being nervous on the bench, but as soon as he hit the field, he found his rhythm. βI was able to get into the game straight away,β he shared. Not long after, he crossed the line for a sensational try. βIt was amazing really and I didn’t expect it,β he added.
Itβs no surprise that insiders have been raving about him. Richard Whiffin has singled him out as a player with “a very high ceiling,” while his coach at Glantaf calls him a “unique player” destined for greatness. Howe himself knows his strengths lie in his speed, dynamism on the ball, and physicality. Heβs set on bringing those qualities to every game.
With such talent and determination, Howe is definitely one to watch! Could this be the start of a stellar career in Welsh rugby? ππ
