A heartbreaking case has unfolded in West Bromwich, where a mother has been found guilty of the unimaginable—murdering her two-month-old daughter. Emergency services rushed to the scene back in July 2020 after little Harleen was reported unresponsive following a fall from her mum’s lap. But the devastating truth soon emerged.

Upon arrival, paramedics discovered Harleen with severe head injuries, unstable breathing, and sadly, she passed away the next day in hospital. A post-mortem revealed multiple skull fractures, bleeding on the brain, fractured ribs, and a collarbone, all inconsistent with an accidental fall. The case, which rocked the community, suspected that the poor child had been shaken.

The trial brought to light the chilling details, and despite her plea of innocence, the mother, 31-year-old Zara Arsalan, was found guilty by a jury at Coventry Crown Court. The detective chief inspector involved in the case described it as incredibly tragic, emphasising how Harleen’s life ended at the hands of someone who should have protected her.
As the sentence awaits on March 12, the case remains a haunting reminder of the fragility of life and the justice system’s duty to protect the most vulnerable among us. Hug your little ones tighter tonight and keep Harleen’s memory in your thoughts. 🌸
