💥 Could you imagine dropping £70,000 on a car number plate? Some folks did just that at a recent DVLA auction! 💥

The priciest of the lot, “57 O”, fetched a staggering £68,010, skyrocketing from its £2,500 starting price. And it wasn’t the only eye-catching sale: “788 HS” went for £40,810, while “849 T” was snapped up for £39,450.

In total, the week-long event pulled in over £5.1 million, with 66 plates alone accounting for nearly £1 million as they each sold for £10,000 or more! 🚗💸
Jody Davies from the DVLA mentioned that the competition was fierce. So, what’s driving this trend? A hunger for unique identifiers that stand out on the road!
If you missed out, don’t worry—the next auction is set from June 17 to 23, with football-themed plates on the horizon for all you sports fans.
Personalised plates aren’t just a way to add flair to your ride—they’re filling the government’s coffers too! Since the scheme kicked off in 1989, these sales have raked in billions for the Treasury. Now that’s what we call impressive!
