Heartbreaking news from Salford: Mohamed Nassar, a beloved Tesco security guard, is fighting for his life after a tragic accident at work. The 58-year-old suffered a cardiac arrest and severe brain damage after choking on a doughnut during his break at a Tesco Express on New Bailey Street.

Paramedics managed to resuscitate Mohamed, but his heart had stopped for 23 minutes, resulting in critical brain injuries. His devastated family, who moved to Manchester from London in 2020, are keeping a constant vigil at his bedside in Manchester Royal Infirmary.

Mohamed, a father of three and a recent grandfather, is cherished by his family and known as a kind soul who always helped customers, even carrying their bags. His son Seif describes him as ‘the kindest person,’ someone who always put others first.
The incident has left his family in shock, with his wife Nancy and children Nariman, 28, and Malak, 14, struggling to cope. Mohamed was the family’s sole breadwinner, and a GoFundMe page has been set up to provide financial support during this unimaginably difficult time.
The community, friends, and colleagues are rallying together, remembering Mohamed for his warmth and selflessness. Osarugue Onaghise, manager of the Manchester Bailey Tesco Express store, expressed deep sadness and extended support to Mohamed’s family.
Join us in keeping Mohamed and his family in your thoughts. If you wish to help, consider supporting the family’s GoFundMe campaign as they navigate this challenging time. Every little bit counts.
Our hearts are with the Nassar family ❤️
