🐀⚽️ Drama at the stadium! During Wales’ crucial World Cup qualifier against Belgium, a surprise guest made an appearance on the pitch – a rat! The match at Cardiff City Stadium had to pause while the cheeky rodent made a dash across the field.

Real Madrid’s Thibaut Courtois tried and failed to catch it, while Wales’ own Brennan Johnson was the unlikely hero, guiding the rat off the pitch. The furry pitch invader even managed to sneak past a ball boy and vanish behind the VAR monitor, never to be seen again!

Cardiff City defended their pest control efforts, saying that despite the odd sighting, they work hard to keep the stadium rodent-free. Wayne Nash, head of operations, emphasised their strict cleaning practices and regular checks, humorously admitting that if he were in Johnson’s shoes, he’d have “run a mile!”
Social media lit up with humour and disbelief. Fans joked, calling the sly rodent “Joe Rodent” after Wales defender Joe Rodon, who scored on the night. Others couldn’t believe what they’d seen – football definitely has its unexpected moments!
Everyone had a good laugh, but Cardiff City assures they’re on top of the situation to prevent any future interruptions. Just a reminder, you might be closer to a rat than you think – even at a football match! 🐭🇧🇪🏆
