Things got heated at the Torfaen Household Waste Recycling Centre this Tuesday when a queue protest led to a police response! Local business owners, frustrated by long wait times that were impacting their operations, decided enough was enough and blocked the entrance with their vans. 🚚🚫
At around 10am, officers were called to clear the roadblock in what was described as a peaceful protest. While the demonstration was meant to highlight a significant issue, a number of onlookers weren’t impressed, one calling it a “waste of time and resources.” Another urged that the problem should be left to the council to resolve. 🤔
The council has responded, stating that they’re now investigating ways to cut down those pesky queues which often trail back to the main road. They’ve already discussed the concerns with local businesses to find solutions that could ease the wait times and limit disruptions to nearby enterprises. 📉💬
