Paul Mosley, a man at the centre of a tragic case that shook the nation, has passed away at the age of 58. Mosley was previously convicted for his role in a catastrophic house fire that claimed the lives of six innocent children from the Philpott family in Allenton, Derbyshire back in 2012.

The devastating incident saw siblings Duwayne (13), Jade (10), John (9), Jack (8), Jessie (6), and Jayden (5) tragically perish in a blaze that was deliberately set by Mosley, along with the children’s parents, Mick and Mairead Philpott. During a trial, it was revealed how this horrific event came to be due to a “wicked and dangerous” plan orchestrated by Mick, with assistance from Mairead and Mosley.

In 2013, Mosley was handed a 17-year sentence for manslaughter, alongside Mairead, while Mick received a life sentence. Mosley’s shocking involvement included removing petrol containers from the scene to make the crime appear as though it was caused by an external attack. This chilling detail highlighted the lengths to which the trio went, with the trial judge noting their collective responsibility for the tragic outcome.

Despite his early release, Mosley’s life post-sentence was marked by being recalled to prison, before finally being released again in November 2023.
Let’s remember and honour the memory of the young lives lost: Duwayne, Jade, John, Jack, Jessie, and Jayden. Their story serves as a somber reminder of the tragic consequences of such heinous actions. Our thoughts remain with the families and everyone impacted by this heart-wrenching event. 🌹
