As tributes flow in, it’s clear the impact Aoife had on her community was immense. Her husband, Jim, a teacher himself, and their young son Daithí, along with her grieving family and friends, are in the thoughts and prayers of many during this tragic period.

Aoife was also intricately tied to her local GAA community, holding the position of Assistant Secretary for the Camogie team. The Boardsmill GAA Club recognises her as a vital part of their community and extends heartfelt sympathies to the Bird family, who have been deeply involved in the club’s activities.

A community rallying in grief highlights how much this “amazing” teacher will be missed. Her legacy, filled with compassion and laughter, will be cherished by students and colleagues alike. She truly touched countless lives with her dedication and warmth.
