🎨 Heartbreaking loss in the fashion world 🌟
Beloved fashion designer Laure Severac tragically passed away following a cycling accident in Wales. The inquest revealed that strong sunlight and roadside trees likely obscured the driver’s view, leading to the fatal collision. Laure, an award-winning artist and academic based in Antwerp, was enjoying a holiday ride on the A4221 when the accident occurred.
Laure’s contributions to fashion, architecture, textiles, and crafts were celebrated globally. She had been a guest professor and researcher at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, where she was cherished by both colleagues and students. The Academy fondly remembers her as a dynamic force whose legacy and expertise will forever inspire.
This tragic incident occurred on August 17, 2023, and despite her being rushed to University Hospital of Wales, Laure sadly succumbed to her injuries two days later.
A true visionary, Laure had garnered accolades such as the Christine Mathys Award and the Flanders Fashion Institute Award, with her creations showcased at the Paleis voor Schone Kunsten in Brussels. Her vibrant energy and passion for her craft will be dearly missed.
