🎸 Get ready, music lovers! Cardiff’s Blackweir Live gigs have been green-lit for another five years! 🎶 These concerts will continue to rock the city’s largest parkland, Bute Park, until 2031. Last year’s lineup with Kings of Leon and Alanis Morissette was legendary, but it spurred a bit of controversy over noise and environmental impact. However, the council reassures us that they’ve taken everyone’s feedback seriously and new plans are set to make this year’s event even better!
Not everyone’s thrilled though—some say Bute Park, gifted for public fun, shouldn’t host such large-scale events. But many argue it’s a win for Cardiff’s culture scene and helps put us on the map. Despite concerns, councillors voted to keep the tunes coming for years to come. 🥳
Next up? From June 24 to July 4, expect to see big names like The Cure, Lewis Capaldi and Pitbull tearing it up at Blackweir Live 2026! 🌟 What do you think about this long-term gig plan? Are you ready to grab your tickets or preferring some peace and quiet? Tell us your thoughts below! 👇
