Exciting times for Swansea City as they prepare for a financial boost from the upcoming World Cup! With three Swans players representing their countries this summer, the club is set to benefit from FIFA’s Club Benefits Programme.

Cameron Burgess is heading out with Australia, while Eom Jisung and Marko Stamenic will be on the pitch for South Korea and New Zealand. Although the fans won’t be cheering Wales this time, there’s still plenty of reason to tune in and support our Swans in their international quests.

Through the programme, clubs receive funds for each day their players are part of the World Cup squads. While the exact daily rate hasn’t been confirmed, last tournament’s figures suggest Swansea could earn a nice sum, even if their players just make the group stages. A player whose nation exits early could still net around £250,000 for the club. And if any of them make it further? Well, the Swans’ coffers could get even fuller!
However, there is a bit of fine print. The payments are shared with any clubs the players belonged to over the past two years. So, for both Burgess and Stamenic, some of the money will be shared with their previous clubs. Yet, even with this arrangement, Swansea is still looking at potentially receiving over £334,500 if all three players bow out in the group stages.
Cheer on Eom Jisung’s South Korea as a place in the knockout rounds could bring more cash – and who knows how far they might go? Each round they progress brings more to the table for Swansea.
Stay tuned as our players take the world stage and potentially bring more than just pride back to Swansea! 🌍⚽️💰 #SwanseaCity #WorldCup2026 #SwansOnWorldStage
