An afternoon at Ynyslas beach took a surprising turn when not one, but two suspected unexploded ordnances were discovered, prompting quick action from local authorities. Around 2:30 PM, a mysterious item was reported, leading to an immediate response from HM Coastguard Borth. After snapping photos and consulting with explosive ordnance disposal experts, it was clear something explosive needed to be dealt with safely. A controlled detonation followed.
Just when you think the action’s wrapped up, the plot thickens! During a separate call to assist an injured individual further down the beach, a second suspicious item was spotted. With the EOD team still onsite, another controlled explosion was carried out, ensuring everyone’s safety.
Thanks to the quick work of Dyfed-Powys Police, Coastguard teams, and EOD specialists, the beach was swiftly secured and the situation resolved by 9 PM.
