π¨ **Hantavirus Scare Hits the UK!** π¨

Two Brits have returned from a cruise and are now self-isolating due to potential hantavirus exposure. The UK Health Security Agency has assured everyone that the **risk to the public remains very low**.
This all began with a birdwatching expedition in Argentina attended by some passengers before they boarded the ship. The outbreak is linked to three tragic deaths. The affected British nationals, a passenger and a crew member, are under medical care. Thankfully, the crew member, who’s a doctor, is currently in a stable condition after a critical phase.

The cruise, which sails under a Dutch flag, was temporarily halted but has now received the go-ahead to proceed to the Canary Islands. Spanish officials, however, are cautious, insisting on a controlled disembarkment to ensure the virus doesnβt spread.
The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has stated that while everyone on board is now a ‘close contact,’ the virus doesn’t easily spread in the community if precautions are observed.
Meanwhile, disinfection and health measures are in full swing on the ship, and authorities are closely monitoring the health of those on board. South African officials are also tracking down potential contacts related to the suspected cases.
π¨ββοΈ **Stay Safe**: If you know anyone who might have been on that cruise or in contact, keep an eye out for symptoms and follow health guidelines!
Let’s hope for a swift recovery for all involved! π
