π₯ Young Brits Transform Historic Boxing Club to Tackle Unemployment! π₯

A legendary boxing club in East London is getting a fresh lease of life thanks to young trailblazers aged 14-24. In the face of a UK youth unemployment surge, this transformation offers not just handy skills but real hope for the future! π

Supported by boxing icon George Groves, the West Ham Community Health & Boxing Club is becoming more than just a gym. These young volunteers, many of whom are not in education or employment, are learning vital trade skills and earning City & Guilds qualifications. It’s all about creating opportunities in the ring and beyond! πͺ
Volunteer facilitators and the Dulux Let’s Colour programme have teamed up to make this happen, offering a full refurbishment that turns the venue into a welcoming and inspiring space. ποΈ
With grassroots clubs like this proving pivotal for youth, it’s clear the impact goes beyond sporting achievements. One young member shared, βThis club has given me a sense of belonging and focus I didnβt have before.β π
Through projects like this, they’re not just restoring a historic venue but also sparking brighter futures for young people facing barriers to employment. Itβs all about building confidence, gaining real-world experience, and looking ahead with positivity! π
So, here’s to young people creating change, one jab at a time, and to the safe community spaces that empower them. Let’s celebrate the power of sport, skill-building, and community spirit! π₯³
