🚨 Shocking Baseball Bat Attack in Cwmbran 🚨

In a terrifying ordeal, two men turned the early morning of July 16, 2023, into a nightmare for Martyn Peach in the quiet suburb of Pontnewydd. Tristan Chapman and Konrad Jones, both in their late twenties, brutally attacked Martyn with a baseball bat over a money dispute.

It kicked off around 2 am when a heated argument turned violent on Ty Box Road. Fueled by anger, both men took turns using a metal bat on Martyn, leaving him with severe injuries. Teeth shattered, a broken finger, and a traumatised mind were what Martyn faced by the end of this ordeal.
Despite his initial fear of his attackers, Martyn courageously came forward to the police. Thanks to forensic evidence, justice prevailed. Although facing a heap of previous convictions, both attackers ultimately pleaded guilty to the charges.
Tristan Chapman walked away with a suspended sentence, his past as a self-employed worker and recent grief over a family loss swaying the judge’s decision to focus on rehabilitation. He’s now on a path to hope, with plans for counselling and making amends for his violent actions with community service.
Konrad Jones wasn’t as fortunate. With a staggering 59 previous offences, he’s now serving 32 months in prison, a decisive step to break his destructive cycle. The court noted his intent to change, but past patterns loomed too large to ignore.
Martyn’s emotional scars speak volumes. Once confident, he now navigates life with anxiety and stress, an unfortunate testament to the deep impact such violence brings.
Our thoughts are with Martyn Peach as he continues to recover from this harrowing attack. Let’s hope this serves as a reminder of the importance of supporting each other in difficult times and the power of justice to set things right. 🙏 #StaySafe #CommunityStrength
