Hey folks, if you’re a fan of Sophie’s in Aberystwyth, we have a tiny request. We love that our café is a cosy spot for your coffee breaks and brunches, but we’re noticing that some customers are setting up camp with their laptops for a bit too long.

During our busiest times, it’s hard to keep up with everyone wanting to pop in for a bite and a natter. While we totally get that sometimes work has to be done, we kindly ask that you keep your laptop sessions brief so more people can enjoy our yummy menu.

Our lovely community has chimed in, with many supporting the idea. One café-goer hit the nail on the head: “Sitting all day and buying just one coffee is totally unacceptable.” Another suggested, “Why not try the library?”

To be clear, we’re not banning laptops! We’re just asking for a little mindfulness and consideration for others waiting their turn to enjoy the Sophie’s experience.

You’re not alone in this – cafes across the UK are facing the same challenge. Many, like us, are putting up gentle reminders for customers to keep visits short and sweet. Some even charge for WiFi to ensure tables aren’t hogged all day.

Let’s keep our café a friendly space for everyone. Stop by, grab a cuppa, and share a smile – after all, that’s what we love the most about this community. Thanks to everyone for understanding! 💖
