🚨 Rugby Shock: Former Bristol Bears Star Chris Vui Hit with Four-Year Ban 🚨

Big news in the rugby world! Chris Vui, once a standout lock for the Bristol Bears and captain of Samoa, has been handed a four-year ban from the sport.

The 33-year-old disappeared from professional play after the Rugby World Cup in 2023. Now we know why. It turns out Vui failed an out-of-competition drugs test, with his urine sample indicating elevated levels of 19-norandrosterone, a marker for the anabolic steroid nandrolone.
World Rugby launched an investigation, finding that Vui’s sample far exceeded the legal limit with a concentration of 7.8 ng/mL. As a result, he was provisionally suspended back in September 2023. Despite Vui’s attempts to contest the ruling, including taking his case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the ban has been upheld.
Vui and his legal team argued procedural issues, even presenting polygraph results and a strong record of negative tests over the years. However, the evidence wasn’t enough to overturn the decision.
This case has certainly sparked conversation, with Vui’s supporters highlighting his long-standing dedication to the sport. As of now, though, the four-year ban stands, marking a significant pause in Vui’s rugby career.
