Damien Shearer, 45, concocted a bone-chilling plan against his partner in Newport. After a night out drinking, the evening took a deadly turn. When his partner expressed she wanted to go home, he threw her house keys away, forcing her to call a locksmith for help. Little did she know the horror that awaited her.

Upon returning, she discovered Shearer hiding in their bed with two steak knives. As the duvet was pulled back, the nightmare began. Shearer violently pinned her down, holding the knives to her throat, and issued terrifying threats.

Despite her attempts to calm him, the situation escalated. Shearer’s violence continued with a hurling stick, striking her arm and causing immense fear. Following the attack, he attempted to apologise, but it was all too late.

The brave victim shared the haunting impact of the ordeal, revealing her ongoing fear and sleepless nights. Financially drained and emotionally scarred, she expressed determination to rebuild her life.
