Exciting news folks! The decision on Britain’s largest indoor snow centre in Merthyr Tydfil is just around the corner! 🌨️❄️
Plans for the whopping new ski slope and leisure resort are back on the agenda and could get the green light as soon as January 7th. After a lengthy consideration, the Welsh Government decided not to call in the application, paving the way for this ambitious project to move forward!
This is not just any snow centre – imagine an indoor ski slope for everyone, a thrilling water park, indoor and outdoor activity centres, and even cosy woodland lodges to stay in. Plus, with up to 418 hotel bedrooms and over 800 parking spaces, it’s gearing up to be a major hub for adventure!
Oh, and did we mention it could also serve as the official training ground for the GB and Welsh national Olympic and Paralympic snow sports teams? Talk about being a landmark!
There’s been a mix of reactions – some looking forward to epic skiing opportunities for future generations, while others have environmental concerns about the biodiversity of the Gelligaer and Merthyr Common area. The council planning committee is now ready to give the application its full attention once more.
Stay tuned for the big decision on January 7th! What are your thoughts on this game-changing development? Let us know in the comments! 🏔️🤔
