🚨 Dramatic Plane Rescue in Powys! 🚨

This weekend, a light aircraft crash-landed in a field in Talgarth, Powys, setting off a whirlwind of rescue efforts. Around 11:38am on the morning of December 27th, emergency crews, including Talgarth and Crickhowell fire stations, Dyfed-Powys Police, the ambulance service, and an air ambulance, rushed to the scene.
The pilot found himself trapped inside the damaged aircraft, but thanks to the incredible teamwork of the emergency services, he was safely cut from the plane. The rescue was no small feat—firefighters had to navigate tricky fuel lines running through the aircraft’s structure while using special Stabfast stabilisers and hydraulic cutters.

Once freed, the pilot was flown to hospital by air ambulance. Emergency services stayed at the site of the crash for nearly two hours to ensure everything was secure. Despite the challenges, their rapid and professional response was crucial in ensuring the pilot’s safety.
A big shoutout to our brave emergency crews who came together for this effective rescue mission! 🙌
