A shocking incident unfolded in Carmarthen when a 68-year-old man, Nigel Page, was sentenced for a disturbing crime. This pensioner pretended to help a vulnerable, intoxicated teenage girl by offering his home to charge her phone. However, things took a dark turn when Page changed into stockings and a thong and attacked her. The girl, fearing assault, managed to escape and flag down a passing car.

The court heard that Page, who was convicted of sexual assault, acted based on a twisted attraction, exploiting the young girl’s vulnerable state. Despite his mental health issues highlighted in court, Page was found guilty, displaying no real insight into his behaviour, and resisting mental health treatment.

The presiding Judge emphasised the teenager’s inability to make sensible choices due to her condition and Page’s attempt to exploit her vulnerability. With Page showing erratic behaviour, the court believed he had an ulterior motive when he later returned to look for her.
Justice was served as Nigel Page received a two-year prison sentence and will be registered as a sex offender for a decade. This distressing case underscores the importance of being wary and highlights the support available for those affected by similar issues.
Remember, if you or someone you know needs support, there are resources available from charities and organisations that can help victims of abuse. Stay safe and look out for one another.
