Jessica-Jane Applegate is all set to shine at this year’s Crufts, and she’s doing more than just cheering from the sidelines. The two-time Paralympic champion has joined forces with the Royal Kennel Club as an ambassador for their exciting new Crufts Club. This fresh initiative transforms the iconic dog show into a year-long community, celebrating the UK’s 13 million dogs!

Jessica, who swam her way to golden glory at the London 2012 and Tokyo 2020 Paralympics, has always had a special bond with dogs. “I’ve had canine companions for as long as I can remember,” she says. “They’ve played a huge part in my success, offering comfort and companionship through the highs and lows of my sporting career.”
The Norfolk star, who also advocates for rescue dogs, is thrilled about the Crufts Club. It’s designed to offer dog owners a supportive space with training tips, health guidance, and practical benefits for pooches of all kinds—whether they’re rescue pups, crossbreeds, or pedigrees. “It’s about creating a trusted home for dogs and their owners,” she shares.

Jessica reflects on her lifelong love of animals, recalling how she’s fostered and rehomed countless rescue dogs, from Romanian puppies to a lovely collie that needed a second chance. “Trust me, there’s something magical about the companionship of a dog,” she adds.
As 18,000 dogs prepare to strut their stuff in Birmingham this weekend, Jessica can’t wait to dive into her new role. “I’m really excited to be part of Crufts in a whole new way,” she says. It’s more than just the spectacle of the show; it’s about building a community where dogs and their owners can thrive together, every day of the year. 🐾🏅
