Aberavon RFC fans have given an emotional send-off to Jason Hyatt as he departs from his coaching role with the Wizards. 🌟 Stepping away to focus on his mental health earlier this year, the club recently confirmed he won’t be returning.
Hyatt has been a transformative figure at Aberavon, spotting and nurturing talents like Jac Morgan. Back when Morgan was contemplating leaving professional rugby, Hyatt was the one who offered him a lifeline, helping to launch his brilliant career. 🏉🇬🇧
Supporters shared a heartfelt tribute, recalling Hyatt’s journey from a determined young hooker to leading Aberavon through some unforgettable seasons. He took charge during challenging times in 2013 and led the team to safety and later, to the brink of championship glory in 2017 and 2022. 🌟
Beyond accolades, Jason’s true legacy is his ability to spot and develop incredible talent, with several players advancing to international levels. His openness about mental health struggles has also made him a role model in sport.
Hyatt responded to the overwhelming support with gratitude, acknowledging the “thoughtful & kind words” from fans. 🙌
