🚨End of an Era: CITV Shutting Down After 42 Years! 📺💔
Get ready to say a heartfelt goodbye to a piece of our childhood—CITV, the iconic children’s channel, is officially closing its doors for good on April 10th. Launched in 1980, CITV has been the go-to spot for generations, entertaining kids with classics like Art Attack, Fraggle Rock, My Parents Are Aliens, and Tots TV.
Originally known as Watch IT before becoming Children’s ITV, and later simplified to CITV, it has been a staple in kids’ entertainment. Although it ventured as a standalone channel in 2006, the fun times came to a halt as digital viewing habits evolved and it transitioned to the ITVX Kids streaming service in 2023.
The nostalgia is real as fans reminisce over the golden days of CITV. One fan reflected on watching Pokémon movies on the channel, while another reminisced about the joy brought by shows like Horrid Henry and Rosie and Jim.
