Father’s Routine Stomach Check Reveals Unexpected Brain Tumor

In a shocking twist of fate, Lewis Goodfield, a 37-year-old dad from Beddau, experienced severe stomach pain that led to a life-changing discovery. After collapsing in hospital in March 2025, a scan revealed a malignant brain tumour, a diagnosis that hit him like a “tonne of bricks.” Though he’d gone in for ongoing abdominal issues, doctors surprisingly found a grade two glioma that medics believe was discovered by sheer chance.

Lewis’ world was turned upside down when he had to break the devastating news to his family. By the summer, he underwent two critical operations—one on his abdomen to remove adhesions and one on his brain. The good news? The tumour was caught early, and the operations were successful. However, the tumour is known to grow back, leaving Lewis under careful observation.

Symptoms like extreme fatigue, headaches, and inability to drive or work have been challenging for Lewis, a service engineer, ever since his diagnosis. Relying on the incredible support of his wife Keeley and his close family, he navigates daily life with resilience and positivity.
