🚨 Rationing Plan Like WWII? 🚨
Hey folks, big news coming out of Caerphilly! Councillor Sean Morgan is stirring up quite the conversation. Amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, he’s suggesting the UK should think about WWII-style rationing to make sure everyone gets a fair shot at essential resources.
Why? He believes market forces alone can’t ensure equality. His words at a recent council meeting make it clear: “The rich will flourish and poor people will go hungry.” 😟 He’s calling on the government for a strategy to prevent that from happening.
Interestingly, this debate was sparked just hours before a temporary ceasefire was announced between the USA and Iran. 🤔 Timing, right?
Cllr Jamie Pritchard, the current council leader, is caught in a tricky spot. With elections around the corner, he’s limited in what he can say right now. But he’s suggested the topic be revisited after the elections. 🗳️
In a twist, Cllr Morgan, once a leader in Labour, jumped ship to the Greens, partly due to disagreements over how his old party handled the Gaza situation. 🌍
