A powerful lightning strike left a Carmarthenshire home with a gaping hole in its roof and sparked a massive fire that kept firefighters busy overnight! 🚒⚡️ The dramatic incident happened in Glanaman late Wednesday night, as thunderstorms swept across Wales. Neighbours captured the shocking moment the lightning struck, setting the two-storey semi-detached house ablaze.

Thanks to the swift response of fire crews from Ammanford, Amman Valley, Llandeilo, and Morriston, the fire was brought under control. Firefighters battled the blaze using high-tech gear like thermal imaging cameras and breathing apparatus. Thankfully, everyone got out safely, and no injuries were reported, but the fire did spread to a nearby home, causing significant damage.

The Met Office had issued a weather warning for thunderstorms following an intense heatwave, and the storm certainly lived up to expectations. Authorities, including the police and ambulance services, were on the scene along with the National Grid.
Stay safe, everyone, and keep an eye on those weather warnings! 🌩️✨
