At 22, representing her country is a dream come true for Jenna, who just came back from a tough 14-month ACL injury recovery. Rugby wasn’t always in the De Vera family plan, but it became a beautiful blend of her Welsh and Filipino heritage.

“My parents had no clue about rugby,” Jenna shares. “But they embraced it wholeheartedly, with my mum even making noodles and spring rolls for my teammates!”

Despite juggling a Master’s in Film and TV at the University of Bristol (imagine a dissertation due right in the middle of the Six Nations!), Jenna’s commitment to the game is unwavering. “It’s challenging, but what an honour to give back to the communities who’ve shaped me.”

With nine uncapped players in the squad, including Jenna, there’s a strong bond among them, forged through U18s and U20s. “We’ve even got a buddy system where senior players guide us through,” Jenna notes.

Under coach Sean Lynn, who’s been at the helm for a year, the energy in camp is electric. “It’s going to be a really exciting Six Nations,” Jenna enthuses. “I can’t wait to see how we gel as a team and push Welsh rugby forward.”

Catch the team as they kick off against Scotland at the Principality Stadium on April 11. Let’s cheer on Jenna and the squad as they aim to make us proud! 🏴🎉
