🌟 Big News from Tenby! 🌟

Sad to announce this summer’s much-anticipated Tenby Summer Spectacular has faced a last-minute cancellation! The event, a highlight in Pembrokeshire for nearly 40 years, was to take place on August 16th & 30th with live music, vibrant food stalls, and a stunning firework display. Hundreds looked forward to it, not just for the entertainment but also for the incredible funds raised for local charities.

Unfortunately, the council had to revoke the event’s licence, citing concerns over crowd safety and emergency access. Councillor Aaron Carey mentioned that public safety is their utmost priority, though they understand how disappointing this is for everyone involved—organisers, volunteers, and the many attendees who make this event so special year after year.
For many, like Lydia Royce, the Spectacular is a cherished family tradition. Lydia recalls the joy of watching fireworks light up the night sky as children played by the sea – a memory shared by thousands who gather on North Beach for the event each year.
Despite the cancellation, the Tenby Round Table, who organised this amazing event, expressed their gratitude for decades of community support. They’ve been instrumental in raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for local good causes. They hope that one day the event can return even bigger and better.
Dyfed-Powys Police echoed the sentiment, recognising the event’s importance but stressing the need for revised safety measures. They remain optimistic about collaborating on a future safe event.
While it’s a setback this summer, the spirit of Tenby and its community remains vibrant. Here’s to hoping that next summer brings new opportunities to create more beautiful memories. Until then, let’s appreciate what this event has brought us over the years. 🌞🎆❤️
