Kobbie Mainoo won’t be on the pitch for Manchester United’s clash against Leeds United this Monday. The young star, who has been shining alongside Casemiro in midfield under interim head coach Michael Carrick, picked up a minor training injury. Despite the setback, Mainoo’s absence is a precautionary move to avoid further risks. Manuel Ugarte is stepping up to fill his shoes, taking his place in the starting XI.

Ahead of the match, Carrick explained, “Kobbie had a small issue in training, nothing major, but enough to keep him out tonight. We’re just being cautious.”

In other line-up changes, Bryan Mbeumo, Harry Maguire, and Diogo Dalot are also out from the squad that drew with Bournemouth. Benjamin Sesko gets his shot as a starter up front, Lisandro Martinez returns from injury to replace suspended Maguire, and Noussair Mazraoui steps in for Dalot.

Martinez is back on the field for the first time since February after recovering from an injury. As for Mbeumo, he’s warming the bench for now after pulling out of international duty as a precaution, despite training fully.
The upcoming match offers United a chance to solidify their position, stretching a gap between them in third and sixth-placed Chelsea. A victory would bring them closer to nailing down a Champions League spot for next season. With the Premier League securing five slots in Europe’s top club competition, United fans are hopeful for a smooth path ahead.
