🚢🦠 Hantavirus Alert: Cruise Passengers Quarantined in Merseyside!

Twenty-two individuals have been isolated at Arrowe Park Hospital in Merseyside following evacuation from the MV Hondius cruise ship, which faced a hantavirus outbreak claiming three lives. This includes 20 Brits, one German, and a Japanese passenger, all now safely under observation.

Photos reveal the interior of Arrowe Park’s quarantine block, familiar to some from its role in the 2020 Covid-19 response. These facilities are separate from the main hospital, ensuring its full operational status.
The group arrived by coach late Sunday night, escorted by police, with all passengers adhering to safety measures by sporting masks, as did the accompanying staff in full PPE.
Investigations are ongoing into the outbreak, including the confirmed case of a 69-year-old Dutch woman. Health officials assure that should anyone display symptoms, they’ll be swiftly transferred to Royal Liverpool University Hospital.
For now, the evacuees, who were cheerfully waving in blue PPE, will remain in quarantine for 72 hours, before heading into a 45-day self-isolation period. They’ll enjoy views of surrounding woodlands from their accommodation, which was previously used during Covid times.
Rest assured, the hospital and multiple health agencies have everything under control, keeping public safety the top priority. Stay tuned for more updates! 🌿🔍
