ππ§ UK Drivers: Time for a Tyre Check! π§π

Attention all drivers! Rising tensions between Iran and the US are sparking concerns over disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for global oil supply. This could mean a hike in oil prices, which may eventually hit your wallet at the checkout counter β especially when it comes to buying new tyres.

Why the tyre talk? π€ Well, many tyre components are linked to the oil and petrochemical industries. So, when oil prices soar, so do the costs for tyre manufacturing and shipping β and yes, those costs can be passed on to you.
Here’s what you can do: If your tyres are worn or nearing the limit, consider replacing them now to avoid getting caught by future price hikes. Remember, the legal minimum tread depth is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tyre.
Keep an eye out for signs of wear, such as cracks or bulges, and don’t wait until itβs too late. After all, well-maintained tyres mean safer journeys, especially with wetter roads and longer braking distances during rainy weather.
