Mysterious Single Symptom Leads to Tragic Passing of 46-Year-Old Woman

A heartfelt tribute to an inspiring woman: Matt and Katy Miles’ story is one of love, courage, and determination in the face of an incredible challenge. Katy, a spirited 46-year-old police officer, was taken too soon by a rare form of cancer. Her only symptom had been bladder issues during a 2016 CrossFit class, but it turned out to be low-grade serous ovarian carcinoma, a rare type of cancer.

In memory of Katy and her police collar number—1481—Matt is pushing his limits through extraordinary challenges. He’s taken on a gruelling 1,481-mile row, 1,481 burpees, and is set to conquer the London Marathon this Sunday, all to raise money for Sue Ryder, the hospice that cared for Katy.
