🌟 New parkrun Alert! 🌟

Carmarthenshire is buzzing with the launch of its latest parkrun along the breathtaking Tywi Valley Path! Starting in the charming village of Nantgaredig, this scenic 5k takes you on a flat, fast course with stunning river views. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or just keen for a leisurely stroll, this is the perfect spot to enjoy the great outdoors and make new friends.

This new addition is the fifth parkrun in the area, joining the ranks of Carmarthen, Llanelli, Gorslas, and Brynaman. The Llwybr Dyffryn Tywi parkrun promises a welcoming community vibe and a fantastic opportunity for locals and visitors alike to enjoy the beauty of the Welsh countryside.
The path is a marvel in its own right, a project a decade in the making, now offering 13 miles of uninterrupted scenic track from Abergwili to Llandeilo, ideal for runners, walkers, and cyclists!
Last weekend’s debut event saw over 100 participants, with the fastest runner clocking an impressive 15:05! Organisers Jack and Liz Tremlett are thrilled with the turnout and are excited to see this parkrun become a staple in the community, much like the ones they pioneered before.
Despite concerns about having “too many” events, it’s clear there’s room for everyone! Each parkrun offers a unique experience, whether you’re seeking the challenge of an off-road track or the thrill of a new PB on a flat route.
Join us every Saturday at 9am with parking available at Nantgaredig RFC. After the run, the rugby club is the perfect place to celebrate with fellow runners. 🏃♀️🏃♂️
So why not lace up your trainers and be part of something special? It’s more than just running, it’s about community, fitness, and fun!
See you there! 🌄🎉
