Well, it was heartbreak at Wimbledon for Novak Djokovic as he faced a tough semi-final defeat against Jannik Sinner, going down to a 6-4 6-4 6-4 loss. Despite his dreams of clinching an eighth title at SW19 slipping away, Novak isn’t hanging up his racket just yet!
At 39, the Serbian legend, who’s a seven-time champ at the All England Club, is determined to grace Wimbledon’s prestigious grass courts once more when he turns 40 in 2027. “I would like to at least one more time, let’s see,” he expressed with hope.
Though he admitted it was a “blowout,” giving credit to Sinner’s fantastic play, Djokovic couldn’t help but smile wryly about the match. “Nothing much I could do,” he shrugged. “Sinner was just a level better, using his serve to great advantage.”
Even after a stellar journey that’s seen him reach numerous Grand Slam semis and finals, Djokovic still holds himself to the highest standards in tennis. Despite four years passing since his last Wimbledon victory, he’s clear that his passion and drive remain as strong as ever.
As he reflects on another thrilling Wimbledon run and looks to the future, Djokovic shares, “This life, this game, it’s given me everything… At this stage, it’s about enjoying every moment and seeing where the next chapter takes me. I still feel like I can compete at the highest level, and that’s what keeps me going.”
