⚖️ Courtroom Update: Predator Sentenced for Snapchat Incident 🚨

A man labelled a “high risk to children” has been jailed after sending inappropriate messages to a young girl on Snapchat. Despite knowing she was underage, Carl Williams contacted her, leaving the girl traumatised. 🆘

Appearing at Caernarfon Crown Court, Williams was already on the authorities’ radar for persuading another young girl to engage in inappropriate activities, which led to internet restrictions. But that didn’t stop him. Last June, he breached a social harm prevention order by using Snapchat again and contacting the victim. 📱🚫

Williams, 27, from Caergeiliog, Holyhead, admitted to breaching a risk of sexual harm order and not complying with sex offender registry requirements. His defence pointed to his troubled past and mental health issues, suggesting he might benefit more from community support. However, Judge Timothy Petts disagreed.
🔒 Sentenced to 2 years and 8 months in prison, Williams will serve about half of that time in custody. The court stressed his troubling history and the high likelihood of him reoffending, deeming a custodial sentence necessary. He also faces a 10-year sex offender notification and a 15-year restraining order from contacting the victim.
