🎨💥 Drama in Llanidloes! Local painter Craig Ashton, 42, saw red when ticketed by parking warden Mandy Williams and ended up throwing his paintbrush at her. 🎟️🚗
The altercation took place on Great Oak Street when Mandy issued a £60 parking fine. Craig didn’t take it well and responded with a barrage of foul language, captured on camera. He then tossed his paintbrush, leaving paint on Mandy’s trousers and causing quite the scene.
At his court hearing in Welshpool, Craig admitted common assault and was hit with fines totalling £1,243 – covering everything from court costs to compensation for the damaged clothes. Despite his actions, he claimed he felt hard done by, noting that other wardens in the past would give a friendly heads-up about impending fines. Craig even revealed that some locals have offered support, with free meats, bakes, and drinks!
Mandy, on the other hand, voiced her concerns, admitting she no longer feels safe doing the job she loves. This incident isn’t the first, as she was assaulted less than a month later by another individual.
It’s a reminder to keep tempers in check – especially when parking woes come into play. What do you think about Craig’s reaction? Could understanding from both sides calm things down? 🧐 Let us know your thoughts below! 👇
