Time for the next chapter in Cyfarthfa Castle’s story! 🎢🏰

After a recent Lottery bid didn’t hit the mark, the spotlight is back on deciding the castle’s future. Cyfarthfa Council is pulling out all the stops to put this stunning piece of Welsh heritage at the top of their to-do list. Leader Councillor Geraint Thomas is adamant that Cyfarthfa Castle, with its rich iron history, should be our crown jewel, drawing in crowds from far and wide. 🎯🏞

While the recent funding setback was disappointing, the mission to transform Cyfarthfa Castle into a major cultural hotspot isn’t slowing down. The council, alongside The Cyfarthfa Foundation, is planning a new funding application to turn this vision into reality. They’ll be working closely with heritage bodies to ensure every detail is spot on. 🔄💪
There’s a reminder from Councillor Brent Carter that all of our cultural treasures deserve our love and care. The ambition is to create a balanced approach for managing these priceless assets, which include the likes of Zion, Theatre Royal, and the Miners Hall. 🎭🏛
Councillor Andrew Barry, while reflecting on the uniqueness of Cyfarthfa, hints at some tough decisions ahead for other historic sites. And Councillor Jamie Scriven reminds us of the importance of looking at the whole picture! 🌍🔍
While there’s work to do, the enthusiasm and dedication to breathe new life into Cyfarthfa Castle is undeniable. Stay tuned for more updates on this transformational journey! 🚀👏
